6 things i'd like to let you know

if i was to tell ry {my hubby} anything... these are the things i would say

1. Thank you for your tireless effort - you wake up so early every morning to work and then come home and work to make our house a home. you amaze me with your effort and dedication to taking care of our small fambam.

2. I appreciate the little things you do - Rubbing my back at night, fixing little things around the house, tucking me in when I'm tired, a kiss on the forehead, laughing at my lame jokes, knowing when all i need is a hug... ect. thank you for the many little things you do.

3.
I'm proud of who you are - I could never tell you this enough. I'm proud to call you my husband. You are so hard working, considerate and faithful

4.
You are the best hubby- You are my best friend, my lover, and my home. i can't believe i am lucky enough to call you mine.

5. I want to grow old with you - If anyone were to ask me what I want to be when I grow up, I can say with all certainty that I want to be the one holding your hand.

6. I love you - Today, tomorrow, forever... you are my home.

love story part 8

Around the time of that fateful "I love you" Ry invited me to go to Washington DC with his family. He had served his LDS mission there and his family was going back to visit and tour around.

He asked me to go and I was scared. Because I knew if I went, I was truly committing to him. now you might be saying... girl you already told this boy you loved him.. and i had. but going on a week long vacation on their family vacation seemed so intimate for me. i had not met all his family yet, i was nervous for the implications of going. but i went and it showed me how much i could truly love this boy.

we spent a week of march running around based on my {future} father-in-law's itinerary. he had a printed out copy of the week with times and what we were doing each day.. sat us down the first night and went over it.. had us up everyday by 630. he wasnt messing around. haha. and it was great because we were able to see everything.
now i could go on and on about DC. it was so fun getting to know his family and spending so much time with ry.

but the day that sticks out the most to me was the day we went to fords theater. ry did not stay with us the whole time because he was meeting a friend who he had served while on his mission so i went with his family by myself. the minute ry left the question came

so what are your intentions with my son?

they were half joking... half 100% serious. at that point, i knew i loved him. but i wasnt sure if i wanted them to know that. i am pretty sure i fumbled through the questions and the myriad of others that followed. it is hilarious to look back on it now.
even then.. i knew what my intentions were. my intentions were to marry that boy and make him mine forever.

me thinks...

things I love.

Things I love

Falling asleep to the sound of rain.
His kisses on my forehead
getting irrevocably lost in a good book
warm fresh smelling clothes from the dryer.
finding a quote or song that describes my current situation
having him still give me butterflies
catching my favorite movie on TV
getting letters in the mail
an ice cold cup of water when i am thirsty
sleeping in
accomplishing something i didnt think i could

distracted much?

life with the fords have been a bit crazy lately. and i will admit, the blog took a backseat. i have been in a funk lately and it is hard to write how i am feeling. we are in a constant state of transition. between moving to my sister in laws basement, looking for a new house, feeling the end of school coming, switching to third grade next year and having a new puppy i am having a hard time finding solid ground. lucky, ry seems to be completely level headed so i have him as my rock.

we have put offers in on 6 different houses in our house hunt. frustrating because we fall in love then get disappointed.
right now we have a house.
as long as the appraisal and home inspection do not dig up anything funky the house will be ours.
i am so excited!
it is a great starter home for me and ry in a great neighborhood.

but the owner of the house we are buying lives just down the street so we would go to the same church. which is completely fine but he wanted us to write a bio that he could read in church to introduce us

kind of weird but its all good, we will roll with it.

ry started writing it, telling about our lives and then he wrote all his hobbies {flyfishing, surfing, golfing, laughing} just to name a few.
and then he said...
"so al what are some of your hobbies?"
i was as blank as he was. and that bugged me. i used to be the kind of person who had so many interests that my day was filled with sports, singing, reading, church, friends. now.. my days are filled with school. i love teaching but it has completely consumed my life. as i reflected on the past year, i realized all the things i gave up to be a teacher. now i dont want this to sound like a pity party. it just got me thinking about my priorities and how i need to make time for myself. i have lost myself a bit. what are my hobbies? what do i like to even do? i will find the answers... eventually.. maybe ;)

from harley.

Hey blogging world,

Im back! Life has been pretty crazy these past two weeks.

Im adjusting to life with a new mommy and daddy.
They seem to love me quite a bit. They are always wanting to play.

I have been working on this whole not going to the bathroom in the house. Sometimes, I make a mistake and think that the shower or mommy and daddys bed is an acceptable place to go to the bathroom.  Im still learning!

Mommy took me to work with her one day so that I could meet all her students. It was quite the adventure. I have never got so much loving and I was sure pooped by the end.

Everyone keeps commenting how big my paws are. Something about me getting to be a big dog one day.

I had an accident a week and a half ago. Someone accidentally stepped on my foot. So it was a soft cast for me for a week but I am ok. My auntie sure did feel bad for stepping on me.

I like to bite things. It is getting to be a problem. But my nose gets flicked whenever I bite something I am not suppose to. I don’t like that very much.  I am quickly learning to just stick to my chew toys.
Although.. sometimes i really like to help my mommy with grading.
I sure love life here

this is me, making friends with another dog names nino.
